We will be learning about different grammar skills, how to use a varied and rich vocabulary, expanding our discussion skills, character description, and much, much more!
In Mathematics, we will be learning about statistics and how to interpret data from models such as bar charts and tables. This term we will also be learning further about geometry, looking at both 3D and 2D shapes, as well as how to estimate and read time with greater accuracy.
Our topic in Science will be plants! You will get to use a range of scientific skills and techniques during this topic, to learn about the flowering parts, functions and seed dispersal.
Year 3 will be taught History for the first half term, learning about the ancient Egyptians, and how this time period compares with the Bronze Age. This will link with Art as you will be making your very own clay sarcophagus! We will even have a special Egyptian Day to find out more about our topic!

RE will be focusing on Islamic faith, and the traditions and beliefs held by people in this religion. Your music lessons will continue with Miss Prater, Portuguese will continue with Mrs Gomes and in PE you will be learning the skills of cricket and tennis!
Please support your child at home by listening to them read 5 times a week and recording this in their reading record. Homework will be set on a Friday and will need to be handed in by the following Friday. We also encourage the use of Times Tables Rockstars to support development in readiness for Year 4! It is great to see those heatmaps turning green!
We can’t wait for an amazing summer term! It always so lovely to see your progress and eagerness to learn in class. Your enthusiasm and determination are a joy to witness and I am proud of all you have achieved so far, and will continue to achieve in the summer term!
